NEW TO ALLEN?

Moving your office, your home, and your life to a new city is stressful. We understand and we’re ready to help.

Below you’ll find links to city data and some of our favorite places in Allen. Hopefully, this will take the sting off moving!

WELCOME TO ALLEN’S HISTORY.

Allen was first home to the Caddo and Comanche Native American tribes in the 1800’s. The undeveloped land was claimed by settlers following the Texas Road as early as 1840. The land became a part of the Peters Colony in 1950, and many settlers seeking to make their homes in the Wild West moved there.

Allen was named after attorney general Ebenezer Allen, a sponsor of the Houston and Texas Central Railroad (H&TC). Much of the structure of the town was created by the railroad, which was built in 1872. A combined freight and passenger depot was built in Allen in 1918.

Fire raged through the town in 1915, destroying many of Allen’s businesses. Despite this, the town managed to struggle through both World Wars and the Depression. After World War II, however, times began to change.

Allen had relied on agriculture for its source of trade until the time after World War II. In the latter twentieth century, Allen, like the rest of the United States, turned to the production of technology to assist its economic base. This helped the town to grow into something more than a town. In 1953, the City of Allen gained its title.

Several big technology companies moved to Allen in the 1960’s, and the town, once with a population as tiny as 400, has grown to be the home of almost 86,000 people today. We are proud to serve Allen with our services, our office furniture, and our sincere admiration for a healthily growing city.
