The Troutman Flag

$115.00

The Texan’s fight for independence in 1835 attracted attention throughout the US as Texan leaders spoke at public meeting from New Orleans to New York.  Groups of organized volunteers were sent from communities in Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama.  An 18 year old girl from Macon, Georgia made a flag under which the Georgia Battalion of Volunteers marched to Texas to participate in the fight against Mexico.
